Savoury granola

I’m not sure why savoury granola isn’t more of a thing? It can make meals more interesting - just add it on salads, on soups, on hummus,… basically on anything that you think could do with a bit crunch 😊 (it goes very well with my onion squash recipe)

Ingredients

50ml vegetable oil (or olive oil)
1tbsp + 1tsp dark soy sauce
1tbsp light soy sauce
1/2 tsp rice vinegar
1tsp + 1/2tsp sriracha
1tsp maple syrup
1 cup oats
1/3 cup buckwheat groats
1/3 cup cashew nuts
1/3 cup seeds (I used a mix of sunflower and pumpkin)
Optional: 1tbsp black sesame seeds, 1tbsp white sesame seeds

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180C/160C fan.

  2. Combine all the wet ingredients in a large bowl and whisk properly. Add all the dry ingredients and stir well to make sure that everything is coated with the oil mix.

  3. Spread out on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes. Stir it after 10 minutes of baking to prevent it from burning.

  4. Let it cool completely and then transfer to a jar.
